Hiking Cerro Manquehue rewards you with breathtaking views of Santiago, from a green mountain ridge that connects the Andes with the city below.

Manquehue, which in Mapudungun means “Place of Condors”, is the highest of the emblematic hills surrounding Santiago. Rising to 1,635 m (5,364 ft), it offers some of the most spectacular views of Chile’s capital. The peak is part of a scenic mountain chain that stretches from the Andes towards the Metropolitan Park, following the north-side of Mapocho River.

A Short but Demanding Climb

This activity is ideal for travelers looking for a short yet challenging hike. The ascent takes about 90 minutes, rewarding you at the summit with sweeping panoramic views of Santiago and the Andes.

Morning or Sunset Hike

You can choose the time of day that suits you best. In the morning, enjoy clear skies and fresh air. In the evening, experience a magical sunset and hike back under twilight, the glow of city lights, and the moon. Headlamps and trekking poles are provided if needed.

Alternative Route: Manquehuito

For those who prefer an easier hike, we also offer an alternative trail up Manquehuito, the smaller sibling of Manquehue. This route is less demanding but still rewards you with beautiful city views.
