What equipment and clothes should I bring?

The equipment needed for each excursion is specified in the activity’s webpage, under the ‘Recommendations’ section (right sidebar).

Anyways, at the time you book you will be informed and advised on what to consider depending on the activity, the information you give us and the weather forecast.

To give you an idea of what to expect, we made a monthly climate graph with average temperatures and mean total precipitations for Santiago de Chile. Remember that in the mountains the conditions are more extreme, and closer to the coast temperatures and fluctuations tend to mild.

What is included in each activity?

On the right sidebar of each activity page, inside the “includes” section you can find all the additional information needed.

Each tour includes the following basis:

  • Transport
  • 1 Bilingual guide for every 6 people (English – Spanish)
  • Phone satellite
  • First aid kit
  • Lunch (bar cereal, cookies, chocolate, isotonic juice, sandwich * water **)

And depending on the activity:

  • Trekking poles
  • Headlamps
  • Gaiters
  • Snowshoeing

* A sandwich per person for half day tours and two sandwiches to full days.
** A single serving of water per person. The amount of this increase proportionally with the demand of each activity.

Where we will meet?

In the booking page there is a section in which you must specify the name and address of the hotel where you’ll be staying or the place where you preferred to be picked.

Our guide and driver will be at the place you decide at the time established in the itinerary of the activity you have chosen.

Can I change the pick-up location?

The guide will pick you up at the place you have determined. If you want to change the pick-up location, you must just send us an email to info@coigueexpeditions.com at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled date.

Can the activity be canceled?

Activities are subject to change or cancellation when bad weather conditions are forecast or other special –natural or administrative– circumstances force us to make changes on ours agenda.

We carefully choose the best date and location for each group’s activity in order to minimise chances of future changes.

You will always be informed in time if any changes are made on your planned expedition.

Can I change the day of the activity?

Yes, it is possible to change the day of the activity. To make the change you must send an email to info@coigueexpeditions.com at least 48 hours before the departure, and tell us which date was originally set and the new date you wish to reserve.

Payment Methods

When should I pay for the activity?

You can pre-pay via PayPal or pay in cash during the day of the activity. We prefer the latter due to PayPal’s big fees, but it’s up to you.

Should I pay in US dollars or Chilean pesos?

We accept US dollars and Chilean pesos.

In the “Price Per Person” section of each activity (right sidebar) you can find the values specified in US dollars, depending on the number of participants.

If you prefer to pay with Chilean pesos, conversion will be done according to the value displayed on valor-dolar.cl the day you confirm the reservation with us.

Custom Activities

Can we plan a different activity that is not offered in the website?

One feature that distinguishes Coigüe Expeditions is our ability to adapt the programs we offer according to our client’s interests and needs. Our flexibility is added to the great willingness we have to offer different types of activities and different places to those described on this website.
