Let’s kayak over 9.800 feet, bike through Juncal valley, rest under the stars and hike to a gorgeous glacier lookout.

We’ll get deep into the Andean Mountains by the main highway that connects Chile with Argentina. After a two hours drive from your hotel in Santiago we’ll reach the Inca Lagoon, where South America’s first ski resort is located. We will row safely through its icy waters of 1.4 miles long, surrounded by mirrored mountains. During exploration we may have lunch at some spot by the shore, or, if you prefer so, visit Portillo’s restaurant*.

By the afternoon we’ll cycle 5.1 miles by a slightly uphill gravel road towards the entrance of Juncal Andean Park. We will follow the namesake river and an abandoned train line that used to connect the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Meanwhile, our driver and assistant will set the camp for us and prepare a cheese & beer aperitivo. At the campsite we’ll have some spare time before dinner. You will sleep on a deluxe tent at 6 feet over the floor which includes a big comfortable mattress, clean blankets, sheets and pillows; glamping style.

The second day we’ll hike towards the largest ice body of Central Chile: The Juncal Glacier. A low slope trail by the eastern bank of the river will lead us to a huge wetland, a mountain oasis plenty of life due to the presence of water all year round. Then we’ll cross Monos de Agua river and enter the last section of the path, which will become less clear and steeper as we continue through a drawer that reveal the presence of the ancient glacier. Once we enjoy lunch at this magnificent scenario we’ll turn and continue our journey back to Santiago.
