Discover the Andes Mountains in a half-day private tour around the ski resorts nearby Santiago, where you’ll have a Wine & Cheese tasting while enjoying grandiose panoramic views and great chance to spot Condors

This half-day Andean tour is designed to showcase the very best mountain scenery near Santiago, with carefully selected stops that maximize your appreciation of the Andes without the need for long hikes.

Your guide and driver will pick you up directly from your hotel before heading east along the road to Chile’s main ski resorts. Along the way, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the La Paloma Glacier, one of the largest ice bodies in the Central Andes.

At Valle Nevado Ski Resort (3,000 m / 9,842 ft), you’ll find services such as restrooms, food, and souvenir shops, while from the lookout point you can admire El Plomo Mountain, towering over 5,500 m (17,795 ft) with its majestic hanging glaciers. The final stop is at the Condor Lookout, a dramatic but secure cliff offering spectacular vistas of the Andes. Here, you’ll enjoy a wine and cheese tasting with the chance to see the Andean condor, whose wingspan can reach over 3 meters as it soars gracefully above the valleys.

This family-friendly half-day excursion combines a short backcountry hike with the pleasure of enjoying a wine and cheese picnic in a quiet Andean setting, far from the noise of the city.

Following the same scenic road to Chile’s main ski resorts, we travel 50 km (31 mi) and climb 40 curves to reach La Parva Ski Resort at 2,670 m (8,750 ft). From here, the group puts on snowshoes and begins a gentle hike northward across the ski trails. The walk lasts about 30 minutes on an easy, mostly flat path that leads to a spectacular spot chosen in advance by the guide.*

Here, you’ll pause for a “surprise picnic” featuring wine and cheese, surrounded by panoramic Andean views. After this unforgettable break, you return along the same trail to the vehicle for the drive back to Santiago and your hotel.

* In winter, the trail is snow-covered, so snowshoes are used to make the experience safe and fun

Note: Family easy tour doesn’t require any previous experience.

In their words

"If you want a beautiful tour of the Andes without all the hype then this may be the tour for you. Nicholas was an amazing guide who took the time to explain everything, and who took the time to slowly walk us through this private tour. After the busyness of Santiago it was so amazing to take in the quiet and peaceful scenery of the Andes, This mountain range is spectacular! Nichols has an extensive knowledge of, and love for nature, and he pointed out many plants and wildlife including the condors. We finished with a lovely wine and cheese picnic overlooking the beautiful scenery. We couldn’t have asked for more."

"Excellent service and excellent day out. Nicolas, our guide, was very knowledgeable, he drove with confidence and safely. He was well prepared and we had wonderful day out. The car was clean and big so it was a comfortable drive up and down. He gave us lots of information and also stopped so many times for us to take pictures and point things out. Overall it was a lovely day and turned out to exactly what was described and more!"
