"Nice guide" – They gave us the best care and attention before the trekking day. Mauro always wrote me back very quickly to my emails. Mauro informed us the possibility of bad weather in advance and offered to change the date or the destination. On the way to our destination, a tree fell down and we couldn't go further. Nicolas, the guide, came up with another trail, took us there without any hesitation. We ended up doing Pacific Coast Garden Walk, and it was fantastic. For the whole time, we felt that they are doing their best to make sure we have great time. The Coast Garden Walk was a very easy walk, but the view was fantastic. The coast, trees, rocks, birds, sea lions... It's not challenging at all, but you can still be surrounded by breathtakingly beautiful nature. Thank you very much Nicolas and Mauro.
We hope to come back.

We hired Nicolas, owner of Coigue Expeditions to do two separate day hikes outside of Santiago. One hike to the Morado glacier and the other to the breathtaking Juncal Glacier. It was the best thing we did in Santiago. Amazing! World class glaciers and amazing fun knowledgeable guide. Nicolas provides first rate service and is fantastic! I would highly recommend his company for trekking anywhere in Chile. He is the best!!!!

If you are considering hiking the Andes in the Santiago area Coigüe Expeditions is highly recommended! Mauro arranged an awesome day trek to the summit of Cerro El Pintor, from promptly picking us up at our hotel to providing a delicious vegan (upon request) lunch with snacks, and his partner Nicolas was our guide for the day. Nicolas is an awesome guide, speaks excellent English and is very knowledgable about the area...from the mountains to the city! The views during the entire hike were spectacular, and Nicolas would stop for a snack break at some of the most panoramic places on the hike. Nicolas is a very personable, enthusiastic and highly capable guide, his love of nature and travel is apparent. For an enjoyable day of adventure let Coigüe Expeditions take you there!

Nicolás and Mauro of Coigüe Expeditions were fantastic guides, and the hike to the summit of El Pintor (Painter's Palette) was the highlight of my trip to Chile. The mountain views were spectacular, and the trip gives you a true appreciation for the beauty of the Andes. (...) From beginning to end, the trip was perfect! First of all, the email communication was prompt and informative. They picked me up at my hotel, and then, we picked up one other guest so two guides and two guests! They provided hiking poles and a great pack lunch and snacks for an energy boost. We had a great conversation during the hike, and they shared their love of nature and hiking in Chile with us.

Mauro and Nicolas with Coigüe Expeditions in Santiago were fantastic guides on the trek to Cerro El Pintor, a beautiful route in the central Andes with breathtaking vistas. The great experience began even before setting foot to trail, as they were responsive to my initial queries, flexible in arranging the date of the hike and diligent about keeping me apprised of weather conditions as the day approached. On the trail, they were amiable and informed, providing a wealth of details about the route, the surrounding landscape, and the natural wonders of Chile. Simply put, if you're in Santiago with a yen to head into the mountains, Mauro and Nicolas are the guides to take you there. Highly, highly recommended.

Darwin's Route Santiago Hiking Tour

We were met by Nicholas and M. They came a bit later so we could eat breakfast in our hotel. We had a really great day with Nicholas as our guide :) the expedition itself was beautiful with breathing taking views. We were a bit worried that we were not going to be able to see much as it is autumn but Nicholas had an impressive and extensive knowledge of the plants along the way, we saw some wildlife and the views were amazing so we really didn't need to worry! My mum was very interested in knowing the names of all the birds and animals and Nicholas patiently spelled out each one for her. Very fair price for such a great day. The journey back just felt like a bunch of friends coming back from a hike. Reasons to choose this company: professional yet really personable service with quick responses to emails, informative and great website, brilliant treks that are incredibly only available with Coigüe Expeditions. Decision made ;)

The highest mountain in the world outside the Himalayas with an elevation of 6,960m (22,834ft).

I recently hiked la Campana with Nico and Mauro as my guides. From the beginning they were responsive, and professional while trying to set up a day of climbing for me. Unfortunately the evening before it rained too much to climb but they set up a trek option to while I reluctantly agreed. Being a guide myself I have a hard time paying money for someone to take me to a place I could go on my own but it was well worth it. Mauro and Nico picked me up at my hostal (and then dropped me at the airport) and shared lots of great information about the area on our drive out. They brought poles for me and an incredible lunch. The interpretation of the ecology of the area was amazing and we even saw a gray fox on the summit! Oh, and the summit is worth the consistently uphill but not too difficult hike! Views from the Pacific ocean, to the Andes including the inspirational Aconcagua! I highly recommend this professional, friendly, energetic and knowledgeable outfitter.

A truly top of the world experience was had on this picture-perfect hike to the Andean Hanging Glacier. The yellow, green, red and brown colors in the sedimentary rock popped against the bluebird sky and snow capped peaks.
I was picked up exactly on time at my hotel and driven to the trailhead for my personally guided hike complete with complimentary lunch. My guide and driver, Nicolas, spoke excellent English and took the time to explain the geology of the Andes Mountains as well as interesting Santiago landmarks seen on the drive to and through Cajon del Maipo. This is the way to go if you want an authentic (stress-free) hiking experience in the Andes.
